The B minor scale — also called B Aeolian — contains the notes B, C#, D, E, F#, G, and A.

Its diatonic chords are i (Bm), ii° (C#dim), III (D), iv (Em), v (F#m), VI (G), and VII (A).

The natural minor scale — known in modal terms as Aeolian — is the default minor sound, melancholic and introspective. It shares all its notes with its relative major but centres them a minor third lower.
