The G minor scale — also called G Aeolian — contains the notes G, A, Bb, C, D, Eb, and F.

Its diatonic chords are i (Gm), ii° (Adim), III (Bb), iv (Cm), v (Dm), VI (Eb), and VII (F).

The natural minor scale — known in modal terms as Aeolian — is the default minor sound, melancholic and introspective. It shares all its notes with its relative major but centres them a minor third lower.
